Swimming made easy.

Spencer loves to swim, just like his mother.

Spencer would get excited when we would

put his little swimmers on him.

But I'm HUNGRY...

I went to Ogden a while ago to try and help Kurls, who was supposed to be on bed rest. She is very bad at bed rest by the way, but I loved going out to spend time with my fam out there. On Saturday morning we went to the girls soccer game. Jaren was sitting in between Kurls and I grossing us both out...

Me: "Jaren, stop picking your nose, it's gross."
Kurls: "Jaren, stop it, now."
Jaren stops momentarily while he is laughing. He quickly begins again though, this time he starts eating them after he fishes them out.
Kurls and I: "Jaren, stop that is gross!"
Jaren: "Well I'm hungry and there is nothing to eat but my boogers!!!"

I couldn't help it I started laughing hysterically.
Then I took a picture to record the moment.
Apparently I've never been truly hungry.

1 Month, 2 Month, 3 Month, 4....

Spencer at the hospital the day he was born getting burped.
Spencer on his 1 month birthday playing with his puppy in his boppy pillow. I love the way he looks in Red!
Spencer on his 2 month birthday thinking about giving the camera a real smile!
Spencer on his 3 month birthday laughing and playing in his crib.
Spencer on his 4 month birthday, at Aunt Karlinda's house showing off his mad sitting skills, while coming into to eat the camera.

Our sweet baby boy is four months old. Actually he is closer to 5 months now but I am horrible at blogging, the fact that I left my picture card in Ogden when I went out there didn't help much either. But I have gotten it now, thanks to Kurls, so I can post some pictures.
About a week before I had Spencer I had a mom in my ward tell me that she missed that time in her life so much. I didn't understand what she was talking about. All I knew was that I was so tired of feeling sick all the time and just wanted it to end, I couldn't wait for him to come out.
About a week after he was born I started to understand what a special time we are at in our lives and understand what that mom ment when she said that she missed those times. I can't say that I miss being pregnant or that I love being pregnant, but I can say that it is an amazing miracle; and when I hold my baby boy in my arms, or watch him kicking and playing, I never want these days to end. He is such an amazing blessing in our home and our lives, the time is going by way to quickly and it makes me want to cry if I think about it too much.
It is amazing to me how much having a child has changed me. My life plan and goals have completly changed. Suddenly getting a master's and having a career are not important at all to me and all I want is to be able to be the one at home with my children, to see all of their firsts. I'm so gratefull for Carl and how hard he works so that I can just be a mom and be with our little man. Life is wonderful and our little man is growing way to fast, we are loving every minute of it though.

The Cabin...

Walt and Sus invited us to go camping for the weekend. I was so excited because Carl said that he would have the time to go. When it came down to it we didn't have enough time to get the camper ready and get up the mountain in time to have fun that night and we were a little nervous about taking Spencer tent camping just yet. Mom and Dad Foley were kind enough to let us use their cabin so we headed up there. Spencer had a good time, other then the sleeping part, he didn't do very well with that. Hence, Carl and I were very tired the rest of the weekend. I realized that I need to learn to take pictures of people other then Spencer when I looked through the pictures on our camera. But, since Spencer is the only one on our Camera here are a few pictures of him fron the cabin weekend.

Blessing Day

We blessed Spencer on July 6, 2008. He was such a good little man for it. He started the day off by sleeping completly through the night for the first time. When we woke up I asked Carl if he had woken up with Spencer, thinking he had and someone I didn't hear it. Carl said he hadn't and asked if I had. When we realized neither of us had Carl went running into Spencer's room to make sure he was still breathing. He of course was breathing and still asleep. We were shocked that he had slept that long.

This is Spencer very tired and in his blessing outfit that my sister Melody, AKA Bubs, was kind enough to make for us out of my wedding dress.
This is a family shot in our yard on his blessing day.

Coming Home...

After being at the hospital for 36 hours we decided it was time to come home. We brought Spencer home on May 24, 2008 at 2:30 pm.

Dressing Spencer and getting him ready to go home.

Meeting the little man...

I had decided that since 37 weeks was considered full term I really won't mind if our little man came 3 weeks early. So one night I was discussing it with Carl, after I'd given into the feeling that I knew our son wasn't coming early. I told Carl that I had decided that our baby could take all of the time that he needed to get to us and that I would even be okay if he came late, but I was just so excited to meet him and see what he looked like that I really wanted him to come ASAP. I said to Carl "Aren't you just so excited to see what he looks like and meet him". Carl's only response was "I can't wait to tickle his feet"! Hence the following pictures:

Spencer with his daddy, just after he was born and they took him to clean him up. Of course daddy is ticklin' his toes.
Spencer with me just after he was born. I was just amazed looking at him and so excited that I finally got to hold him in my arms.

Welcome to the world little one...

This is our wonderful baby boy just after he was born. He was born May 23, 2008 at 6:54 AM

One of our favorites of our little man from the day he was born, he was getting burped.

The first famiy photo, taken just after Spencer was born.

I started having contractions around midnight on the 23rd. I had been havinng them for 2 days so we weren't getting serious about going to the hospital. I would have one and then fall asleep for a little bit and then the next contraction would wake me up again.
By around 1:30 the contractions were regular enough and painful enough that I couldn't go to sleep in between. Carl decided to shower and do more of his homework since I was keeping him awake. I'd heard that baths helped ease contractions so I tried it when Carl was done. It didn't even come close to working; I had to get out to throw up a few times. I gave up on the bath easing my pain idea and just showered.
Carl told me we were going to the hospital and gave me a blessing. The blessing did convince me that this was the real thing, but I was still worried about getting to the hospital to early and having them send us home. (This happened to one of my friends, she got sent home 3 times, I figured I would rather just wait and go there late enough they wouldn't want to send me away.)
We got to the car and I was able to talk Carl into driving around a little before we went to the hospital. He told me we would drive around 15 minutes, if I had 3 contractions in that time we were going to the hospital. I had 3 contractions within 10 minutes and decided that we could go to the hospital and that I was really glad we had choosen to go to a doctor in Vernal not Roosevelt because I didn't want to drive any farther then necessary having contractions. I even tried putting my head out the window like a dog, nothing helped.
We got to the hospital at 2:30 AM They asked when I was due, Carl said "Today". She took us to the room where they check you in, after checking the nurse just said, "Wow, you're gonna have this baby, we need to get you to another room". They took us to the labor and delivery room and after a lot of hard work we were blessed with a perfect wonderful baby boy. The whole experience was truly the most amazing thing we've experienced. Our baby boy came to this world with such a strong spirit with him and we are so thankful for him.

Technologically Challenged...

I have finally decided that I need to try to catch up with technology. I have many friends and family with blogs, I love to look at their's but didn't think I would ever make one. I don't even know how to download pictures and e-mail them to people, I think I came close to having it figured out once though. So here is my attempt to start a blog and catch up with technology.
